QR code keychain tags for lost keys
A Locatid keychain tag is a rectangular QR code tag on a short chain and split ring. If your keys turn up on a café table or in a taxi, whoever finds them scans the code with their phone and messages you. Nothing on the tag, or on the page they see, says where you live.
Why not just put your address on your keys?
Because keys with an address on them are keys to a door someone now knows how to find. A Locatid tag carries a photo you chose and a QR code. Whoever finds your keys learns your first name and nothing that leads to your door, and the two of you arrange the handover in a private chat.
They scan, they message, you get your keys back.

It is rectangular, on a short chain and split ring, with your photo on the front and the Locatid QR code on the back. Zazzle prints it, ships it to you and takes the payment for the printed tag.

Questions about QR keychain tags
Will the finder see my address?
No. They see the photo, the name you gave the tag and your first name. Your address, email and phone number are never shown.
How will I know someone found my keys?
You get an email as soon as they send a message, with a private link to a chat where you arrange how to get them back.
Can one tag cover more than one set of keys?
Each tag has its own code, so give each set of keys its own tag. The free plan covers one tag. Pro covers up to 10 tags for $4.99 a month.
What if I'd rather a lost tag stopped working?
Delete it from your dashboard. Anyone who scans that code afterwards is told it isn't active.
Does the tag need charging?
No. There is no battery: it's a printed code, so there is nothing to charge or replace.
